Spirit in the Sky

 This was one of those moments where you're running to get your camera.  I couldn't believe the sky in LA today.  First off, clouds are a rarity on our sunny streets. Secondly, this photo has so many moods and colors fighting with each other it makes for one cool shot.  I may have missed the FULL rainbow arching over Sunset Ave. but i'm happy to see i was able to capture the sky and its magnificent colors.  No photoshopping included!!!

We had the pleasure of shooting our first storyline-short film with the beautiful actress, Fernanda Romero. She is incredibly talented and committed to her craft, honestly she blew me away! Thank you to everyone who helped us complete this project... from the glam squad to the muscle men we appreciate you all so much. Enjoy the video and if you like it please feel free to repost:)

STREET TALK WITH HOLY GHOST! @ THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM
Last month marked the beginning of the much-anticipated LCD Soundsystem and Holy Ghost! tour, which is in support of the two DFA Records bands' most recent releases (This Is Happening and Static On the Wire EP respectively) and goes through October. Our NYC staff had the pleasure of seeing LCD perform one of their mini residency gigs at Terminal 5 and checking out Holy Ghost!'s exciting underground live debut, but we didn't get the chance to sit down with any of the artists until they swung through Los Angeles last week for a couple shows at the Hollywood Palladium.

Our good friends from Tiger Tiger stepped up to the plate when we asked them to meet up with Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel―the two founders and core members of Holy Ghost!―for a little interview and some behind the scenes fun.

Check out the video the day-long film session yielded and have your socks knocked off. We foresee big things in the guys' futures! Oh, and don't forget to click through all the photos Tiger Tiger snapped before and during the shows!

Summer is Falling: video & photos!

Wow! Its been quite the amazing month! It's been a bit since our last post so I will briefly catch you up to speed... Well, we have a new website in the works! WAHOO! We love our current site but over the past year our passion for photography has become more focused and we realized the importance of creating our Fashion Photography based website to showcase our portfolio and videos. We also have been growing our Live Music photography *which now includes band interviews and documentaries (more on that later!). We are so excited! We are definitely in the final stages so we should be launching the site in about a week...

We are also premiering our "Summer  is Falling" shoot on the new site! Sneak peek below.

It's an ode to California summers...perfect weather, bright colors, nature, beach attire...

Here's the making of "Blue World" by KITTEN. We're so proud of them! First off for getting signed to a major label and secondly for stealing the show at SXSW. Its been great documenting their beginnings- it has certainly been an amazing ride. Good luck in the UK!

The Magic of Black Eyeliner : Self Portrait

My plan for today was to knock out some laundry and get some good reading time in. Of course, the laundromat was packed to the max leaving no dryers open. Miraculously I managed to shove 3 loads of laundry in one dryer. I set the timer for 72mins and skipped out. Feeling a little exhausted I jetted up to my place to bring myself back to life. Maybe a round of breathing exercises and some tea will do the trick? As I looked in the mirror -almost to pity myself- my blackest of black eye liner caught my eye. Instantly, the beautiful image of Julianne Moore lining her eyes in  A SINGLE MAN filled me with inspiration. I slowly drew one line across the middle of my lid doing my best to replicate the lines of Ms. Moore. Before I knew it both of my lids were black. I HAD TO SHOOT. I looked at my bathroom clock – ok I have 1hour! I didn't have time to complain, talk myself out of it or nit pick about details. It was go time. I ripped off my bedding moved a few things around and created my set. Camera- tripod- lights. I set my camera on the 10 second timer and jumped back and forth playing the role of model and the photographer…

Acoustic Set with Gavin Turek

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The sun was shining and the sky was clear beyond belief. I shadowed Gavin and crew while they practiced and filmed an acoustic set of her song "Ring It". We started the day out in Jon's La Crescenta based studio and finished it out at a middle school in the area. A simple idea produced beautiful visuals and sounds.
